LORRAINE WREFORD MLA (MORDIALLOC) 9584 4013 - SENIORS WRAP UP

The Seniors took on second placed Hampton Rovers in which was a must win game for us. The boys aided by a strong breeze in the first quarter started slowly before booting four late goals to take a four goal lead at quarter time. The second quarter we were able to maintain our lead and hold a 13 point lead at half time. The third quarter was one of the best quarters the side has played in a long time to kick 10 goals to nil to hold a 13 goal lead at three quarter time. The last quarter the boys kept working hard to maintain their huge lead and win by 78 points.

Nathan NG was best on ground with a dominant 6 goals from the 19 year old centre half forward which included four goals in the third quarter. Charlie Dillon with 4 goals played a great game, also Sam Chitty, Mick Meyer, and Rob Swayne... but overall a fantastic team effort by the boys.

HIGHWAY TYRES - RESERVES REVIEW ($10 to the club for every tyre sold to a member)

The Reserves had a hard battle on their hands with a plucky Hampton Rovers keeping with us until three quarter time where we held a 7 point lead. The boys then put the foot down in the last quarter and piled on the goals to take out a strong 6 goal win. The win places the boys in outright second spot and marching towards a top two finish before finals. Keep up the good work boys.

BENDIGO BANK PARKDALE/MENTONE EAST - DEVELOPMENT SIDE REPORT

A well-earned win last week against old foe Hampton. Being 5 points down at quarter time was a great effort against the wind, in the second quarter we kicked eight goals to two and where 32 points up at half time. More of the same in the second half to run out 72 point winners.

Mick O’Connor on loan from the seconds was best on ground kicking four goals, George owned the goal square with 4, Nifty Ned bagged 3, Chooka 2 and even Coach Jason wobbled one through. Best players O’Connor, Chooka, Giosis, Wuz, Ross.

We now find ourselves in 6th place and a game out of the four, important game this week at home against PEGS. Well done boys.

BINGO BANGO - UNDER 19 REPORT

  • The Under 19’s took on Old Brighton in the first game of the triple header last Saturday. Old Brighton beat the boys in Round 1 by a point so the boys were expecting a hard game. The boys dominated from the start and a blistering third quarter set up a huge win for the boys by 102 points.

A great team effort and Luke and the coaching staff will be rapt with the form turnaround over the last two weeks which has them again pushing for the finals for the third consecutive year.
